The Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Ma’aden), one of the fastest-growing mining companies in the world, and Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) have extended their memorandum of understanding (MoU). In this extension, signed during the recently concluded Expo 2020 in Dubai, the focus is on R&D, targeting both conventional and green technologies in the areas of smelting, waste management, and recycling.
Aluminum is one of the world’s most crucial metals for a future based on sustainability and the environment. Through this partnership, Ma’aden and EGA will work together towards a greener aluminum. Located in Ras Al Khair on the east coast of Saudi Arabia, Ma’aden’s operates the world’s largest vertically integrated aluminum complex. A fully integrated refinery, smelter, rolling and export facility in Ras Al Khair is part of Ma’aden’s mine-to-market aluminum business. Ma’aden produces high-quality billets, ingots, slabs and flat-rolled aluminum products for multinational automakers and consumer brands around the world.
